About the Iowa Child Care Provider Training Registry

The Definition:  The Iowa Child Care Provider Training Registry is a web-based training approval and enrollment system.  Registered Child Development Home Providers and Licensed Child Care Center staff can search, view, enroll, and track successfully-completed trainings.  The information is stored in one centralized location and is available to any active child care provider throughout the State.

The Purpose:  The Iowa Child Care Provider Training Registry allows statewide access for approved  trainings.  The system tracks approved trainings which have been completed by Registered Child Development Home Providers and Licensed Child Care Center staff.  This helps the Department of Human Services (DHS) track professional development regulatory requirements.

The Goal
The Iowa Child Care Provider Training Registry:

The Audience

The Level of Access

Training Organization

All data entered into the training registry under the umbrella of your organization is the responsibility of your organization, and not the Iowa Department of Human Services.

Training Organization Manager

The training organization manager will be approved by the Iowa Department of Human Services Program Manager who is responsible for the training registry support.  Training organization managers will have the responsibility of selecting the training organization employees that have access to the training registry, under the umbrella of your training organization.

Training Organization Manager and Employees

The training organization manager and employees will have the responsibility of selecting the trainers that have access to the training registry, under the umbrella of your organization.  Be aware that trainers have permissions to manage class enrollment and attendance for the approved trainings.  The training organization may choose not to select a trainer for the class if they want full control of the enrollment and attendance list.  The training organization manager and employees will have the responsibility to follow a training (class, conference, series) from beginning to the end, which includes scheduling, approving enrollments, managing the waiting list, managing enrollments, and processing evaluations.  No other manager or employee will have access to assist with the work for that specific class, conference, or series.

Trainers

The approved trainer will have the ability to manage the enrollment list for the class(es) that the trainer is approved to train.  The trainer has no responsibility in the training registry, but does have access to manage enrollments and attendance if the training organization chooses to allow the trainer this access by approving the trainer for a specific training connected to the organization.
